RecoMed works with hospitals across the UK to take away single-use PVC devices for recycling into new products.
We won the Innovyn 2016 sustainability award, the 2017 National Recycling Award for waste prevention and the 2017 CIWM Sustainability and Resources Award for best recycling project.
Who funds and runs RecoMed?
The RecoMed scheme’s primary funder is VinylPlus, the sustainable development programme of the European PVC industry. RecoMed is one of a series of VinylPlus projects putting practical recycling schemes in place across a wide range of PVC applications.
The scheme is delivered through the British Plastics Federation (BPF), who represent VinylPlus in the UK.
To grow the scheme and meet demand from hospitals, we welcome interest from potential new partners. See Get involved to find out how becoming a RecoMed partner could benefit your business.
